13 THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

THIRTEEN THINGS AN AGENT NEEDS TO KNOW ABOUT DWP:

13.  The long-term residual money is built by getting the short-term fast start money.

12.  Other companies create residual for their reps by charging their customers MORE for their product or service:  DWP creates residual for its agents by charging our customers LESS for our services.

11.  In other words, with DWP, stuff is either FREE or LESS.

10.  Ask another Agent for help:  you don't have to do this alone.  You can, but you don't have to.  Reach out to Mike or Barb.

9.  Your interface does not bite:  don't be afraid of it.  Watch the training videos BEFORE YOU DO anything else --I was scared to death of this biz until Avita said "Barb, watch the videos".    I did -- Then everything began to clear up!  I will never know this biz in depth, but I know all I need to to hook a merchant up with support@digitalworldpay.com.

8.   #9 is what you get paid to do.  You don't need to be more expert than that.

7.   Why do we like to get a merchant's processing statement and send it to   support@digitalworldpay.com?

       Because we're not psychic!!
                        Neither is DWP.

We need hard numbers in order to inform the merchant how much we can save him.  Without the numbers all we can do is guess.

6.   More on #7:  if a tradesman is contacted about reroofing your house, he can't give you a bid until he comes out, looks at what you have, hears what you want, measures, and computes.  Same here:  consider that merchant statement just another roof!

5.   Tip:  co-op with other Agents to print your brochures in volume at a great price.  Last order we got was from OvernightPrints.com, trifold brochure, glossy full color folded and shipped, 3,000 for $254.     (Need some?  Contact Barb.)

4.   Your interface has PROFESSIONAL FLYERS!  If you are targeting a particular merchant, print off the flyer that applies to him and drop it by.  (Gas stations, restaurants, retail, salons, etc.)

3.   Rob Freytag promised everyone on his  Clover webinar Tuesday night his help via phone interviews with their merchants interested in POS.  He is as good as his word:  he already 'closed' a BIG restaurant Bay Area in Sean's group.       Need his #?

2.   GIFT CARDS!  GIFT CARDS!  GIFT CARDS!  EVERY MERCHANT  should get 50 FREE gift cards just to see the benefit to their bottom line.  Check the box on the EPI app, select the Quick Start design and decide what the merchant wants on card (biz name, address, phone? slogan?).  No matter the biz -- liquor store, mini-mart, mailing shop...

1.   Remember:  with DWP you aren't chasing rainbows.  You are building a pot of gold.

AIN'T IT THE TRUTH!

Months that Begin with "J"

I just don't feel like weaving in those particular months, January, June, and July. January is understandable because it follows December, a potentially busy weaving month. June is not quite so understandable, other than it's the beginning of summer and maybe I'm busy doing other things. July is very understandable... it's hot.

The paragraph above is from a post on a weaving blog, which I enjoy. It just struck me  that's very similar to a saying we have in network marketing  that I've heard as long as I've been in the business--  "nothing good happens in months that begin with J"... seems like that's not just true of  marketing but also  of weaving!

The amazing thing is with Digital World Pay we've had an awesome summer so far! When most other networking companies practically shut their doors  in this slow season, DWP has kept  the merchant world zinging.

Since we're almost out of the J months and  into that awesome month beginning with A -- yaahooo! --  looks like we're going to have a Fantastic Fall!

Great things are on the DWP horizon  -- must mention  the excellent agents out there busy this week  including-- Maribel, Vic, Robinson, John, Jorge, Sean, Cora,  Bill, Wayne, Lynne,  by the way we have a great meeting next Thursday night in Sacramento,  more on that later --  lots going on and it's still a J month for a few more days!

*************
GET READY FOR FALL -- EVERY AGENT GET A MERCHANT NEXT WEEK BECAUSE... the more shoppers shop, the more your merchant saves on processing fees!

The CEA (Consumer Electronics Association) released an estimate last year comparing the amount of online shoppers between Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday in 2013 to 2014 and the increase is a whopping 6.1 million! With online spending going at a steady increase every year, we’re expecting an increase of 10-25% for 2015 from 2014 with at least a quarter of those shoppers searching via a social media site. We’re looking at a rise in mobile traffic with big name merchants. According to Marketing Land, last year’s Thanksgiving weekend drove 52% off all US e-commerce traffic however, sales were still down. We’re hoping to see a critical switch in focus to e-commerce online and mobile sales this year where merchants no longer limit their deals to in-store shoppers. Real-time sales result from Black Friday 2014 shows that while mobile drives more traffic, tablets closed more sales transactions. According to the IBM Benchmark Report tablet drove 16% of online sales while mobile only accounted for 11.8%.

'TOO LATE FOR THIS ONE' FILE:

Edna Briggs put me on the phone with a merchant-friend yesterday.  We couldn't help him because he already has a PayAnywhere system:  he told me all the stuff it does for him and says "I love it"!

Which is great to know:  so now Edna is hunting for  merchants who don't have the PayAnywhere so she can tell them!

CONS of ordinary network marketing:

  • The Federal Trade Commission cautions "Most [network marketers] end up with nothing to show for their money except the expensive products or marketing materials they're pressured to buy."

  • The nonprofit Consumer Awareness Institute analyzed available data published by the MLM companies themselves. Of the companies surveyed, they reported the least successful was Amway/Quixtar where 99.99% of distributors lose money, and the most successful was Herbalife, where 99.42% of distributors lose money.

  • They also surveyed 200 tax preparers in three counties in Idaho and Utah, where 6% of residents are active network marketing participants. From over 300,000 tax returns, not a single one reported significant profits from network marketing activities.

  • In a Wisconsin lawsuit, the tax returns of the top 200 of 20,000 network marketing participants were examined by the Attorney General. The average income of this top 1% was -$900.

  • Newsweek found that fewer than 1% of MonaVie distributors ever qualified for any commission at all, and less than 1 in 1,000 recovered the cost of their required monthly purchases.

 PROS of Digital World Pay:

DWP Agents purchase for $195 one time a comprehensive and ongoing merchant card industry training package as well as website, interface and marketing tools -- and pay NOTHING else   ever!

Agents are assisted in acquiring merchant accounts for our processors and receive residual income from those accounts.

The 56% paid from each account monthly is shared by a set-level structure.

In companies like those above, the distributor is the customer.  In DWP, Agents get customers.

DWP Agents market a necessity, not a commodity.

Average income of a full-time independent agent nationwide (not DWP) is $180,000.

FROM THE 'EDUCATE YOURSELF ON WHY DWP IS A GREAT BIZ' FILE:

THE PAYMENTS INDUSTRY EXPLAINED

  • The ecosystem for credit- and debit-card processing involves a complicated set of players interacting to process every transaction. Five types of players are involved: acquirers/processors, issuers, card networks, gateway providers, and independent sales organizations (ISOs).   That's us!

  • To process a typical transaction, three steps must occur: authorizing, batching, and funding. Each participant in this process takes a fee off of the total volume of a transaction. The remainder is deposited in a merchant's account.

  • Three trends will shape the payment-card-processing ecosystem from 2015 onward: the EMV security migration, rapid development of new payment technologies, and the massive card-fraud problem in the US.

  • The mobile point-of-sale (mPOS) is going to have a massive impact on the payments-hardware and payments-software industry. By 2019, we forecast that nearly 80% of US retailers will have implemented a mPOS device.

Pinned your retirement to the stock market?

U.S. stocks fell Monday, weighed down by a tumble in oil prices as well as Greek voters’ rejection of creditors’ conditions for further financial aid.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 46.53 points, or 0.3%, to end at 17683.58. Stocks spent midday trading around the flat line after earlier being down by as much as 166 points.
The S&P 500 dropped 8.02 points, or 0.4%, to 2068.76 and the Nasdaq Composite Index lost 17.27 points, or 0.3%, at 4991.94.

Better idea --Pin it to DWP!:

CARPINTERIA, Calif.--()--General purpose and private label credit, debit, and prepaid cards generated $5.165 trillion in payments for goods and services in 2014. Processing fees, including interchange paid by U.S. merchants to handle that business, were $78.09 billion, up from $72.44 billion in 2013 when fees were $4.768 trillion, according to the annual report on U.S. merchant processing fees published by The Nilson Report, the top trade newsletter covering the card and mobile payment industries.
“Fees merchants pay to process card payments rise annually because Americans use their credit, debit, and prepaid cards more each year”

Hi Barb, I know I've missed out on soooo much! I joined Merchant Guard last year under Jerry M. but wasn't ready to leave my main job to pursue the business with Merchant Guard. I would like  to re-enter the credit card business with Digital World Pay.  I've recently opened an office in Long Beach and I would like to start again. What should I do first? I'm available when you are!  Thanks, Tom
One of DWP's great strengths is that, once  an Agent,  always an Agent.  There have been a multitude of tweaks, improvements and additions to our program -- including a name change from Merchant Guard to Digital World Pay  -- but all Tom needs to get caught up is his password that opens his interface with all the up-to-the-minute training, flyers and info!

Here's a great Sean story from last night:   Sean,  Robinson and Armida  were having lunch at a Korean restaurant yesterday.   As they were eating, Robinson notices the proprietor and  says to Sean "go talk to her,  go talk to her."

So Sean shrugs,  goes over to the lady behind the counter and introduces himself as a credit card processing  Agent.  "Would it be possible for me to see if I could save you some money on your processing fees?"

As he was standing there,  the mailman came in and  handed the lady an envelope.   she looked at the envelope,  tore it open and pulled out some paper which she thrust at  Sean.   It was her  processing statement!

He  was floored but he took out his  smartphone, pulled up the Cam Scan app,  took a picture of the statement,  emails it directly into support@digitalworldpay.com with his Agent  number on there and tells the lady "thank you very much--  as soon as I get the proposal then I will get back with you."

Can you believe?    This is too easy --  way to go,  Sean!

WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO:

    The 'deal'.
Well, yes, learning about the merchant card processing industry was a huge draw.
    The money.
Well, that's always on the table for any networker worth his/her salt.
    The reality.
Only a story will work here, so listen up. I've told new people for several months now that we have yet to meet a merchant who is not being taken advantage of by his current processor. And that really is the truth.
But listen to this story from yesterday. Mike has a church prospect who had called -- they're going to do a fireworks display and they wanted to order some phone swipers. Mike met with them, and they were intrigued with also getting the terminal for the church and getting into the digital age. Very small church in Sanger. They called  yesterday with another pastor to sit in with them regarding the swipers for the fireworks booths. I went with Mike. The pastor that they called  had already signed a contract with a company and this is the deal that he told me:  he showed me the contract--  just one page of it -- showing .10 basis points and then he showed me the proposal that they gave him which was based on bps of .25.   The numbers that he showed me  didn't agree  with either one of those two figures. He then told us that this company is giving him free terminals for 50 fireworks booths and all the swipers  they need for free.
Now you know and I know that is never going to happen-- in fact  he was paying far more than he should have last year and he didn't understand that contract either but unfortunately for him he has already signed his contract for this year.
However the church that we met with knows better than to deal with him-- they said he never checks anything out and  gets stuck every year. They did $50,000 in 10 days on their booth last year and they don't want to pay a penny more than necessary to process all the credit  and debit cards. So we were happy that the church that we met with actually paid attention to the contract and paid attention to what we explained to them about the business.  We're getting them a great rate and they'll be happy with their new terminal and the swipers.
The only problem is --- we lost another personal merchant   because the church pastor wants to be an agent and then the youth pastor also wants to be an agent under him and then the church!  There you go guys --  isn't this a great business!  Helping pastors build a retirement income is enough by itself to keep us in the game!

WHAT'S YOUR DWP HOT BUTTON?  Would love to hear from you.

    *******************

KEEP GIVING OUT THOSE BROCHURES: this is a Sean story. Got an email from DWP Support (Avita) yesterday with a merchant's name & phone number -- they had signed up but there was no way to tell who the agent was. So I called the merchant and said:  "thank you for being a merchant"  and asked her who was the person who had told her about our company. She said it was a man named Sean -- he'd given her a brochure and told her little bit about  the phone swiper --  so there you go! She didn't sign up when he was there but she did it later on by herself... awesome!  Keep giving out your materials to merchants... you never know when it's going to pay off.
BY THE WAY, the pastor above who had signed the very questionable fireworks contract responded to a postcard in the mail... so he trusted a COMPLETE STRANGER who is taking him to the cleaners

    A Marriage Made in Heaven

It is a big deal:   our  network marketing  comp plan being  married to the credit card processing industry. We can only say it's about time!
There a lot of reasons for this: network marketing as a compensation plan is over 100 years old --  in fact moving on toward a 120 years old. So it works;  it's here to stay and the fact is it is growing more and more and more monthly.
The reason for this is really two fold.
First,  major changes have transformed the industry of network marketing and all of them are positive.
    • Great integrity
    • Professionalism
    • Mainstream acceptability
    • Profitability for participants
    • Technological sophistication and
    • New levels of training and support
All make this kind of marketing state-of-the-art!
The second reason is what's happened in the corporate world.  Today's workforce has changed;  technology and economic realities have created massive and permanent changes within the modern work world.
The rules of the game have  changed for anyone involved in law, medicine,  healthcare, sales, computers, small business and countless other fields.   Corporate downsizing means a smaller number of people preduce greater volumes of work in shorter periods of time with fewer resources --  and  upper level  corporate life is all about supply and demand. The daily reality is people competing for positions in the corporate world has become a game of musical chairs and everybody knows their music can stop at any moment -- so what can they do to be prepared for those times?
How about a credit card processing business that they can build part time around whatever they do and yet create livable residual income that can sustain their lifestyle when things go south with their corporate job or their regular job!
    *************
Merchant testimonial about one of our processors:
    North American Bancard Merchant Testimonial
"North American Bancard helped me streamline the equipment I was previously using, and overall, made the system much quicker and more efficient. It’s easier for me to keep track of things, as I can now oversee transactions at all of my twelve locations in real time. Plus, I saved over $900 in bank card fees in the first month, compared to my previous supplier. Dealing with NAB was really terrific. I am very happy I made the switch, and my staff reports they are saving a lot of time.
I would wholeheartedly recommend North American Bancard services to anyone who needs credit card processing."
