THANKS FOR THE SUPERIOR SERVICE!

Congratulations to the DW Agent who was recently given kudos by their merchant/client for what they called 'superior service'.

We learned about it in a roundabout way because all these relationships are (naturally) confidential... but, suffice it to say, we were proud for the reputation that Digital World Agents create in the field!

WAYTOGO, KIDS!

The motor that never stops

What is in the air lately?

Several calls and texts have been received the last few days from DW Agents we haven't heard from in a good while -- all with updates on new merchant accounts they are working on and some of them with BIG monthly volume.

Cora, Marlyn and Ileen are three that come to mind!  WAYTOGO, LADIES!

You've got to love a biz that has its own motor running that never stops.  Guess it's because people never stop using their credit/debit/smartphone/non-cash ways to make purchases at coffee shops, donut shops, grocery stores, restaurants, jewelry stores, casinos, auto repair shops, to name a few of the merchant establishments that DW Agents get paid commissions on monthly!

We are so thankful for John Daniels, David Daniels, Anthony and Avita and the whole Digital World Team.

And the recent uptick in Agent activity indicates that a lot of you are thankful, too.

Do you feel guilty for taking those DW checks?

What a surprise to get a Digital World check the other day -- was not expecting one.  Haven't been doing anything worthy of one.

Have been busy with other projects -- and life events -- so not much happening here for my personal Digital World front.

And look here!  Two Digital World Agents were nonetheless actively helping merchants last week and I got paid!

Thank you, Kathy O'Connell and Nabeel Shahzad.  If I'm not mistaken there are a few of you other DW Agents who also made a few bucks from Digital World even without your paying attention.

If you are looking at Digital World and wondering if it is a real business and if there are any people making any $$ at it, let me be the first to tell you that it is real and yes, there are a lot of us who should feel guilty for taking those DW checks every month.

Get your DW web-office.  Watch a few of the training videos.  Print off a targeted brochure for a merchant you want to approach.

Then get out there.

Every day there are hundreds of merchants across the US who are clients of Digital World's processors, hundreds of them of long-standing, as in months and years on the service.  But also every day there are new merchants being introduced to how Digital World can cut dollars off their processing bill monthly.

Just ask Kathy and Nabeel!

Every merchant needs a great processor!

The latest evidence Americans prefer debit cards to credit cards

Published: Jan 10, 2018 9:09 a.m. ET

Debit remains more popular than credit cards, despite having less perks and security benefits

There’s a pretty good chance the last time you paid for something, you did it with a debit card.

Debit cards were the No. 1 payment method Americans used in 2016, the most recent year for which data was available, according to a report released this week by The Nilson Report, a company that analyzes the card and mobile payments industry. It analyzed data from the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis.

Consumers made nearly 68 billion transactions on debit cards in 2016, The Nilson Report found, followed by cash with nearly 49 billion transactions and credit cards with about 34.6 billion transactions. Every merchant needs a great processor!

As cash becomes less popular around the world, cards, including debit, credit, prepaid and electronic benefits transfer (EBT) made up nearly 61% of payment volume in 2016, The Nilson Report found. That will grow to more than 69% by 2021.

In 2016, consumers for the first time spent more in terms of monetary value on credit and debit cards than they did in cash, according to the research firm Euromonitor International.

Although the use of cards is growing, cash “continues to hold its own,” said David Robertson, the publisher of The Nilson Report.

Still swiping after all these years...

DW Agents, WELCOME TO THE HOLIDAY SEASON 2017!

Image result for HOLIDAY

The shelves were barely ready for Halloween, forget about Thanksgiving --- everything is stocked for Christmas.  SHOPPING  SHOPPING SHOPPING !!

That means, for merchants, LOTS of swiping and processing and PAYING FEES!

That means, for DW Agents, LOTS of commissions on all that swiping and processing and fee-paying.

WHO DO YOU KNOW WHO WOULD LOVE TO BE IN ON THIS BUSINESS?

WHO SHOULD YOU MENTION YOUR DW AGENT WEBSITE TO?  Like mine  (click here).

Is there a learning curve?  Yep.

Can it be scary, getting a merchant?  Yep.

But consider this:

the other day I heard the CEO of a major marketing company say that the average best life of a customer that they get signed up on autoship is 6 months.

Six months!

And that's among the best in the industry!

Our DW customers -- we call them merchants because that's what they are -- are with us a minimum of 3 years,  usually more!

Talk about doing something one time and getting paid over and over and over....

TIS THE SEASON TO RAMP IT UP AGAIN, GANG!

New call schedule going up shortly:  if you are in, send Barb email or text !!

Gratitude for Residual:

For 3 years now Mike and I have gotten residual checks from Digital World (first it was Merchant Guard, remember?) and we have a serious Attitude of Gratitude for John Daniels'

a. pursuing this awesome idea and
b. sharing it with us!

There are a bunch of you who get those monthly checks for something you did months and years ago.  Can't beat true residual income, and Digital World, while requiring a learning curve on our part, COMES THROUGH with consistent financial rewards!

The secret to just doing a little bit and receiving more and more?

Share your DW opportunity video with a bunch of people* and build a growing team of Agents.  You share in the residuals that THEY build and there is nothing in the industry that can surpass that!

Questions or help?  Text Barb at 5598240668!

*Use the link in your DW interface and send it out to people.  For example, here is my link that I copied from there and pasted here:

There are several different excellent videos you can send... like the "android pay"!

ONE GREAT THING ABOUT DW RESIDUALS:

At a time of natural disaster such as we are seeing this month, when your home can be destroyed and your place of business, too, and you have to get money to clean up, rebuild, and get your business going again so you have income for all these expenses.....

it is a great comfort to know that you have ONE source of income that remains unaffected from these events ---   if there were no other reason to work our Digital World business, that alone is enough!

We have built a large team that spans many states with businesses from coast to coast.  Although a storm might interrupt one or two merchants, most will be unaffected and that commission on each customer purchase just keeps on  coming.

If you haven't been serious about your DW business, isn't it time?

Talk fraud to your merchants:

Point-of-sale credit card theft has remained high in the U.S., where 47 percent of all credit card fraud occurs, though the country only represents 24 percent of worldwide credit card volume, according to CreditCards.com.
A full one quarter of American cardholders have been victims of card fraud.  And it's because here, old credit card technology is still widely in use.
Craig Shearman, vice president of government affairs and public relations at the National Retail Federation, said the U.S. has been slow in adopting the latest and greatest credit card tech and moving on from the magnetic strip.
"That magnetic strip is about as sophisticated as an eight-track tape from the 1980s," he said.
Magnetic strips are relatively easy to copy. And blank magnetic strip cards, at the same time, are easy and legal to come by. The strip technology on your credit and bank card is the same technology hotels use today in throwaway guest room keys.
But there is a better credit card technology out there, said Shearman, and it is  The EMV (short for Europay MasterCard Visa) card, equipped with a more secure data chip, is currently being ushered into wide use by American card users. Chip cards create a unique code at every purchase, making it much more difficult to create a fraudulent copy.
Chip cards also emit a signal at each purchase, signaling legitimate use.  "It's not something that's as easy to create as a magnetic strip," said Shearman.
Retailers across the country were given an October 2015 deadline to begin implementing chip card technology in stores. So far, around 1.6 million stores locations — or one-third of all store locations — are chip card-enabled, according to MasterCard.

Quick and nimble -- that's DW!

Here is the payment processing industry according to BI:

The payments industry had a huge year in 2014 and it's showing no sign of slowing down. On the one hand tech giants like Amazon and Apple released new products that affirmed their long-term payments ambitions (Apple Pay and Amazon Local Register). On the other hand startups such as Stripe and ShopKeep continued to carve out market share, challenging older players like PayPal and VeriFone.  Understanding this complex and rapidly evolving space can be challenging. In its explainer, BI Intelligence offers a high-level look at the payments industry — how it functions, who the key players are, and the trends shaping the industry.

Here are some of the key takeaways:
  • The ecosystem for credit- and debit-card processing involves a complicated set of players interacting to process every transaction. Five types of players are involved: acquirers/processors, issuers, card networks, gateway providers, and independent sales organizations (ISOs).
  • To process a typical transaction, three steps must occur: authorizing, batching, and funding. Each participant in this process takes a fee off of the total volume of a transaction. The remainder is deposited in a merchant's account.
  • Three trends will shape the payment-card-processing ecosystem from 2015 onward: the EMV security migration, rapid development of new payment technologies, and the massive card-fraud problem in the US.
  • The mobile point-of-sale (mPOS) is going to have a massive impact on the payments-hardware and payments-software industry. By 2019, we forecast that nearly 80% of US retailers will have implemented a mPOS device.

About our Processors

About our processors:

Michael Nardy, Founder and CEO of Electronic Payments, was exposed to entrepreneurship at a very young age and always had a passion for business. His family's longstanding privately-owned pest control business on  Long Island, New York encouraged Mr. Nardy to pursue entrepreneurial opportunities in his childhood and early adult-life.
In 2000, during his vocation as an undergraduate student at Boston College, Mr. Nardy founded Electronic Payments. When not immersed in studies, he focused on selling auction software to global organizations during the height of the Internet and dot-com explosion. He was the only employee and managed the business from his college dorm room; he even missed several classes to assist consumers and international clients.
Mr. Nardy quickly noticed the high demand for payment and transaction processing services. After graduating from Boston College with a dual degree in English and History, he elected to continue his business and raise the bar in the transaction and merchant services marketplace. He moved the company to his home town in Long Island, New York and, within three years, Mr. Nardy hired over twenty staff and developed a network of 400 sales agents and 10,000 merchants across the country.
Today, Mr. Nardy continues to elevate Electronic Payments' products, services and reputation as one of the most respectable acquirers and transaction processing companies in the nation. Since the company's incorporation, he has realized four office expansions, established an unparalleled staff of over 70 in-house employees, a network of 800 agents nationwide, and a portfolio of propriety, innovative products and services. With revenues exceeding $57 Million and a consistent rapid growth rate, Electronic Payments has received numerous industry accolades, including Deloitte & Touch LP and Inc. 500/5000 rankings for five consecutive years. The company now boasts more than 25,000 clients and processes over $6 Billion annually.
Michael Nardy is recognized as one of the industry's top leaders.  His success, dedication and contributions to the industry have earned him the honor of being named “Industry Leader” by the Green Sheet and one of “America’s Coolest Young Entrepreneurs under 30” by Inc. magazine. He was also nominated as a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year® 2011 New York award.  Mr. Nardy has been featured in both print and broadcast media, including Newsday magazine, Long Island Business News, the East Hampton Star as well as FoxBusiness News and Sky Radio Network.

Top 10 Benefits of Card Acceptance

ASSIGNMENT  Tuesday

It's back to school,  kids!   Time for you to be learning what you're doing! There's a great little video I just discovered in the interface called "Merchant Services 101".

It's brief,  very well done and actually answers a couple of lingering questions that I have had about chargebacks. Love the training!   There is always something new in there: and  you don't have to  do it all at one time but it's fun  every so often to get in there and  look at one of the training videos.... the Pivotal app training is really helpful.  We love Jessica:)

Make some time to watch a vid from your interface today!

Meanwhile, back at the EMV ranch...

Mr. Merchant:  Help protect your customers and your business

When it comes to enhanced security for your customers, chip-activated terminals are taking things to a whole new level. So how does it work? Chip cards and chip-activated terminals work together to protect in-store payments. A unique one-time code is generated behind-the-scenes that is needed for the transaction to be approved—a feature that is virtually impossible to replicate in counterfeit cards. It’s easy for your customers to use and for you to adopt.

EMV MYTH #2:

Myth 2: Merchants are required by the government to upgrade to EMV-enabled systems by October 2015.
Verdict: False.
Last year, President Obama announced that payment card providers must issue secure chip-and-pin cards to their customers by October of this year. At that point, liability for fraudulent transactions will shift from the credit card provider to the merchant, if the merchant hasn't upgraded their system to read EMV-enabled cards.
According to a new report by POS system provider Lightspeed, 45 percent of retailers are poised to miss this deadline, either because they don't understand the new rules around EMV or they don't want to spend the time or money upgrading their system. But contrary to a common misconception, the government's October deadline only applies to card issuers — merchants are not required to upgrade their systems by then, although they would be smart to if they wish to reduce their own liability.

Print and share with your stubborn merchant today!!

The Top 10 Benefits of  Credit Cards: Merchants

Merchant Basics
  1. Accepting credit cards legitimizes your business.
By displaying the logos of the credit cards you accept at your cash register or on your website, you grab a cardholder’s attention and create in them a sense of trust in your business. They trust the credit card brands enough to carry them in their wallets, and that trust transfers to the merchants who accept them. When they trust you, they’re more likely to buy from you. DWP offers processing solutions by industry to suit all types of businesses.
  2. Accepting credit cards can boost sales.
When you take your business from a cash-only operation to one that accepts credit  and debit cards, your potential customer base broadens tremendously. The more customers you attract, the more likely you are to make additional sales.
  3. Accepting credit cards helps level the playing field with your competition.
The businesses with whom you compete are already accepting credit cards, so you really need to take that step in order to survive.
  4. Credit cards encourage buying in general, and impulse buying in particular.
Shoppers feel in control when they use credit and debit cards. They like being able to complete transactions quickly and easily without having to run to the ATM for cash or write a check, both of which are limited to their available funds. Some studies have indicated that customers tend to spend more when they’re paying with plastic instead of cash, most likely due to the credit line their card provides.
  5. Accepting credit cards can improve your cash flow.
Credit card transactions are processed electronically and settled quickly, with proceeds typically deposited into your bank account by your processor within a couple of days. This means no more waiting for checks to clear, no more billing and waiting to collect from your customers, and less cash to handle.
  6. Accepting credit cards is practically a requirement if you do business online.
The vast majority of transactions on the Internet are paid for with credit cards. If you are an e-commerce merchant, you can’t afford not to accept plastic.
  7. Accepting credit cards eliminates the risk of accepting a bad check.
One bounced check can take a big chunk out of your profit for the day, not to mention the time wasted tracking down the customer to make good on the sale. Credit card transactions are screened as they are processed to reduce the risk of fraud. You can also rely on a reputable merchant services provider like DWP to deliver secure credit card processing that helps protect you and your customers from data breach and identity theft.
  8. Credit cards are convenient for shoppers, who seek out merchants that accept them.
Customers want to choose the method of payment that’s most convenient and beneficial for them. Frequently that means credit cards, especially if they offer points, mileage or other awards that are attractive to them. Can you afford to lose a customer just because you don’t offer a credit card option?
  9. Accepting credit cards is a relatively inexpensive business expense.
Credit card processing is a highly-competitive industry today, so you’re likely to find a merchant services package that suits your budget. Credit card processing rates are so low even the smallest mom-and-pop outfit can easily afford to accept credit cards.
  10. Getting set up to accept credit cards is quick and easy.
At DWP we can process your merchant account application immediately and have you ready to process credit card sales within 24 to 48 hours.

Saturday, August 15, 2015

The ftc.gov website has some great tips for small businesses regarding credit card processing. Here's one below  I've posted because it indicates how truly unscrupulous agents can be. That's why we are out there helping merchants!

6.     Point of Sale (POS) equipment: To buy or to lease?  Sales agents may try to lease you POS equipment to swipe cards or may offer you “free” equipment. Checks the contract terms carefully. Leases can be very pricey and you often end up paying thousands of dollars for equipment you can buy for much less. Many leasing contracts can’t be canceled – meaning you have to keep paying even if you switch payment processors or decide to close your business. Another tactic favored by fraudsters: offering “free” equipment but burying fine-print terms in the contract requiring you to cough up for monthly “insurance.” Others bill businesses for the full purchase price if they switch processors and don’t send the equipment back immediately. If sales agents say you have to buy POS equipment from them to use their services or get their rates – or demand an “unlocking” fee for using your own POS equipment – look elsewhere. Many payment processors will let you use the equipment you already have if you switch to their services.

HEADLINE OF THE DAY:

2015 Payments Industry Trends

The credit card sector is a large, growing, and profitable segment of financial services.

Viewed broadly, the payments industry (worldbank.org) (which includes organizations that store, process, and transmit cardholder data) has three quite attractive attributes: It’s large, it’s growing, and — thanks to its relatively stable and predictable transaction volumes combined with low capital intensity — it’s highly profitable.
