 hope you had an awesome weekend and are looking forward to a Great Week! Our morning already started with a conversation with the Harringtons down in Georgia.. Then from the  West Coast  Dr Mike is working on a Procharge account.

Mike L. also has a  Procharge on the radar. Today must be something to do with mobile purchasing!

Top Agent Sean Krohn called last night and he has two Milpitas meetings set up for Friday, and then we'll be going to the meeting with Marlyn and her group in Daly City on Saturday. Going to be a productive week ...things are happening.

On our way to see our CPA and have our handy notebook to show him and a couple of flyers  to leave with him. Then a funeral then work out ...then a real blog with some information.  But in the meantime  share Merchant Guard with everybody!  And have a super day!

Square Makes an E-Commerce Appeal to Small Merchants

Square hopes to broaden its reach with its core micro-merchant market by offering technology to tap the $1.6 trillion e-commerce market.
The mobile point of sale provider is partnering with Bigcommerce and Weebly to help brick-and-mortar businesses make it easier for merchants to build e-commerce capabilities.
Square has established a niche with micro and small merchants with its mobile card reader and Square Register as a tabletop point of sale. A company blog says its move to partner with e-commerce providers will help its merchants in the U.S. and Canada "start selling online with Square in just a few minutes."
And some of those merchants may already have an online presence, but are in need of a more robust "out of the box" website builder solution with more features, said Square spokesperson Farly Ury.

We had an awesome lunch yesterday at Juan's Firebaugh Restaurant, one of the first MG merchants in our team portfolio.  MG Agent Lety Rodriguez shared MG with Juan last fall and he has been saving processing dollars ever since.  He made a point of coming out to shake our hand and hug us!  Juan said he had a great 2 weeks with his parents in Mexico on the money he saved already.

 Mr. Wayne decided to run a local ad.

So he stopped by the paper.  Places his tri-fold brochure on counter and tells lady behind it he wants to run an ad about his business.  She looks brochure over and asks what it is.  He gets lost in an advanced explanation of Merchant Guard 5.0.

She looks him in the eye and demands "But what do you do?"

Wayne:  "Well, I get a merchant's processing statement and send it in to our company and they send back a proposal showing how much we can save them."

Her:  "Come back in 2 days and I'll have our statement ready for you."

Wayne: "Do I need to see the owner?"

Her:  "I'm the owner."

 Bad News: Wayne still needs to place ad.

Here's a little motivational tip of the day  (thank you, Time Magazine).

To get some merchant statements, you know you just need to go share your MG flyer with biz card with some local merchants.  And you think that's a great idea and sounds simple and do-able... even sounds like fun.  

But you're the type of person who requires emotion to trigger motivation.  Here's the tip:

So treat yourself whenever you complete something on your to-do list. (Yes, this is how you train a dog but it will work for you too.)

Having trouble finding a reward awesome enough to get you off your butt? Try a “commitment device” instead:

Give your friend $100. If you get a task done by 5PM, you get your $100 back. If you don’t complete it, you lose the $100.

Your to-do list just got very emotional.

I'll SAY!!  Give your teenager that $100 to hold in escrow so you'll stop by 5 merchants before 5pm and watch your residual grow!

Fees and Rates:

While F.... primarily markets a tiered pricing platform, they are completely willing to offer interchange-plus pricing (preferable). Merchants applying at F....  can expect the following:

• Processing markup over actual cost: 0.30% + $0.10
• Statement fee: $7.95
• Monthly minimum: $25 (negotiable)
• PCI compliance fee: $99 annually

Other fees include:

• PCI non-action fee: Additional $19.95 monthly (must complete PCI assessment to avoid this)
• Authorize.Net gateway fee: $7.95

So here’s the bottom line: If you avoid the PCI non-compliance fee and come in under your monthly minimum, F...... offers fairly competitive pricing.

That, my friends, is what this business is all about….nice people who listen, reach out, and do it all!  I am so proud of them!

Great day….I just picked up a merchant statement from a restaurant doing $64,000 a month in credit card receipts!

This was the fourth time I have called on them…..started with the manager who got excited about the ProCharge units for home delivery.

Then the gift cards got the owner excited, and the rest is almost history.

This is a business of gentle reminders, and building friendships. 

Brooke Eldridge is signing his first health club tomorrow….I believe this will be his fifth merchant.

Hope you are all staying warm. It snowed in Indiana on Friday! Hoping the weather gets a little nicer over here.


I am planning on doing a similar Q & A meeting similar to the one I previously did; either on Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning, whichever works best for the people who want to attend. If you were unable to attend the last meeting and would like to join in on this one please let me know what day/time would work best for you by replying to this email. 


EPI and Merchant Guard wanted to make all agents aware that if they have a potential merchant or agent please have them contact you direct for sign ups. Electronic Payments will not do them in house.

If you have not gone out and spoken with any potential merchants or agents make this week your week to do so! We want to get merchants up and running before the holidays! You also want to make your peers knowledgeable about this great opportunity. Do you know someone that needs extra cash for the holidays? Merchant Guard would be perfect for them!


You want statements and new agents! If you have set up some new agents in October get with them this week; be their mentor, help them succeed in this business.
