Thanks to Alert Agent Eduardo Tolentino for this informative article:

NFC: What You Need to Know

By now you may have heard of NFC. It’s been the next big thing for the past five years.

Okay, so maybe this tech hasn’t hit its stride yet. But there are several new mobile phones that claim “NFC” as a feature.
So what does NFC mean, how does it work and will it finally catch on? These are questions that many consumers will have as they hear more and more about this technology — and here are some answers.
What is NFC, in a nutshell?

NFC, which stands for Near Field Communication, is a type of communication that involves wirelessly transmitting data from one hardware device to another physical object, provided that the devices are in short range (within 10 centimeters) of one another.

In order for NFC to work, both devices — say, for example, your smartphone and a payment terminal at your local CVS — have to have NFC chips and antennas embedded in them.
But I can already tap my credit card to pay for things. Why is NFC any better than that?
You’re right: Consumers can already use a tap-to-pay method with some newer credit cards. But proponents of NFC on mobile argue that it’s even faster and easier to use the device that’s likely already in your hand — your smartphone — rather than digging around for the wallet that holds that credit card.

Another big NFC pitch is that your smartphone could simultaneously store loyalty cards, coupons, tickets and boarding passes, so you could use your NFC smartphone to transmit and receive data in those accounts, too.

However, that idea of the “mobile wallet,” or moving your credit cards and rewards cards to your phone, doesn’t necessarily require NFC. In fact, the mobile payments industry in the U.S. is pretty divided — there are those who are pushing NFC, and those relying instead on software solutions to make mobile payments.

CHARGE!!

FROM THE MISCELLANEOUS FILE:

Deloitte sez that in 2014 barely .05% of payments were made using phone NFC or contactless technology.  Now it's at 5% and climbing. ("Contactless payments finally gaining momentum")

Phone Swipe merchants all have Next Day Funding. All transactions are automatically batched and settled each day. Batching occurs at 8pm Eastern Time, so transactions processed before that time will be included in the day’s settlement.

A souring story: SquareIt didn't help when The Wall Street Journal reported in early 2014 that Square's losses were widening and it was running out of cash, so Square was discussing possible deals to sell itself to a larger company. Potential suitors were a who's who of Silicon Valley tech giants.
Another bad sign was that after quickly jumping to a $5 billion valuation by January 2014, the company was valued at $6 billion later that year in another round of funding. That change represented a fairly modest increase in the world of start-ups, and suggests that Square was unable to secure more favorable funding terms with private investors due to slowing growth.  (For entire article go to Source: Motley Fool)

Merchants Merchants Merchants

FROM THE INBOX:

a)  Just had our biggest volume Merchant go active 10/1/15. Thru 10/17/15, Credit Card volume was $ 207,700. The Agent who will enjoy the 20% monthly residual only went to ONE meeting with us back last June. This Agent has only recruited 2 other Agents. EPI CEO Michael Nardy got personally involved to close this one.  All the agents who are in the residual stream from this Fountain of Residual have reason to REJOICE and keep sharing DWP!

b)  How bout the Agent with 12% monthly on level 7 who  just got another big one approved one hour ago. What a biz. Mike

MORE ON MERCHANTS:

Just got  this back from Support on a merchant statement submitted a few days ago:

Putting this merchant on Cost Plus with a 5 cent transaction we are able to save them 20% monthly!
I have attached the analysis along with the application for your convenience. Please let us know if you have any questions.
Thanks!
MORE MERCHANT STORIES:

1.  Agent Roger had only been in DWP a few days and was facing hospitalization for surgery. He got up early one morning and went for a walk. He stopped in at a new bakery got coffee and donuts. While there he happened to think of his DWP business and spoke of it to the owner and left him a brochure. Subsequently the owner called back, was interested, sent in his statement,  got a cost analysis back with an application, and signed up. The story is posted  here because Agent Roger got his first residual check on that merchant. It was $88!  Guys, no matter what you say -- that's a good residual income on one customer -- FAR MORE than you can find in any business that we know of!!!

2. Agent  Evelyn Barrientos hasn't done much in her time in DWP and was feeling guilty about it. She is a property manager and decided to take the day off to call on a couple of businesses. Since she didn't feel confident with her knowledge of what we offer,  she asked her upline Sean Krohn to accompany her. They travelled to Hollister,  California, and couldn't find the businesses she was looking for . They stopped to ask directions at an  auto repair shop and while  there, Evelyn decides to talk to the man about his credit card processing terminal. He  totally rebuffs her.

So she steps back and hands the baton to Sean;  next thing she knows they're in the man's office signing him up as a merchant with an application because Sean always travels with his computer and his portable printer!   They also sit there while the man calls the mayor and tells him about Digital World Pay and makes plans to get them to his other business which is a large auto repair shop in Oakland, California.  Evelyn cannot believe the results. So proud of you, girl. And by the way,  kudos to Sean!

From unplanned 'cold call' to signed merchant in one visit!
